Men's Prayer Conference:

"Lord, Teach Us to Pray!"

Location: Calkins Baptist Church
Date: March 26 & 27, 2010
(See sidebar for schedule)

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." -1 Timothy 2:8

We are living in troubled times. Tragically, many men n our Bible-believing churches fall into one of two traps: (1) Passiveness - many men are sitting on the sidelines while great conflicts are gaging for the souls of men and the destiny of our nation, (2) Naivety - other men, while sincerely trying to make a difference in this generation, rush into social action, political involvement, or even church ministry without sincerely seeking the will and blessing of God.

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal [i.e. fleshly], but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds..." -2 Corinthians 10:4

The great need of our day is not men of power, but men of prayer. This has always been so. Moses' intercession on behalf of the nation of Israel turned away God's righteous wrath from his people. (Exodus 32:9-14)

Might God be looking again for such men today to beg Him to spare His hand of righteous judgment? Ask yourself:
  • What price do we deserve to pay for our many sins against God?
  • What will happen to my children, grandchildren, etc., if God's well-deserved judgment falls upon our land?
  • Could my prayers make a difference?
  • What might happen if I do not act?

We have been blessed in our area by several like-minded pastors who believe in the power of prayer. They have agreed to come and speak on the subject of prayer. We urge you to prayerfully consider being part of this conference. Come to learn to pray, and come to spend much time in prayer with other brothers in Christ on behalf of yourself, your family, your nation, and the lost throughout this world.
Our focus for this conference is on the concepts found in Christ's model prayer (commonly called the Lord's Prayer).
